India's Culture
Three
main culture differences throughout India are art, architecture, and clothing.
Many people call Mumbai Bollywood because of the film production there. People
started producing movies in Bollywood in the 1930’s. Bollywood makes more films than Hollywood per
year, most of their films include native dancing and singing. The most famous
building in India is the Taj Mahal, built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan for his
third wife. India also has many ancient temples. When people think of Indian
clothing hey think of the silk Saris worn by many women. Men also dress in a
similar manner, they wear about a five yard long piece of cloth, they tie it
around their waist and legs called a dhoti. Men also wear a kurta which is a
loose shirt about knee length. For special occasions, men wear a button up coat
from the knees to the neck. I think the most important part of India’s culture is the clothing. Indian people are world renown for what they wear. Even though that part of the culture is starting to fade away, I think it is a great reminder of who they are. India likes keeping to their cultural norms. In keeping with that, they maintain their borders with Pakistan and China even if minor conflict is necessary.
